The chat room is a way you can communicate, live, with the DJ in the studio of the chatroom. Not
only that, but you can talk to every other viewer watching, live. This guide will explain how to use it.
It is powerful, easy, and reliable.

Be warned - There are rules.
Despite appearing anonymous, you can be banned from this service. DJ's in the studio have this
ability, and so do a team of active moderators, who appear in the chatroom highlighted as blue text.

• Absolutely no spamming.
• Don't "flood" the chat room.
• No posting links without moderator permission.
• If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it.
• DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE CAPS. ITS ANNOYING.
• Ban appeals : forum@soundpond.net

If you have a question about using this service, you may post here. You don't even need a forum
account, but if you post without one, your question may not appear immediately. Creating a forum
account is really easy, just click "sign in" up the top.

Setting a nickname.
In the chat window type the following. /nick namehere. There is no space before the / .
Change namehere to your desired nickname.

Example, to change your name to Jason_5, type : /nick Jason_5

If you see a login box, this means the name you tried is already reserved. Click cancel,
and try a different name. You could try adding some numbers to the end, etc. If the name
is available, the chatroom will reload. When you type, it will now be with your new name.

Reserving a nickname.
Chat services are provided by the website www.ustream.tv. In order to reserve
a name you must create an account there. Click "sign up" link up the top-right, and follow
the prompts. In the chat window, type /nick nameyoureserved . When you see the login box,
enter the name and password of the account you created at ustream.

Private Messaging.
To private message a chatroom user, simply click their name, either in the chat room or in
the user list, and click "private message". That will open a new tab in the chat area just
above where you write text. You can go between multiple conersations and the chat room like this.

3rd party programs.
You can use any custom chat client to connect to Soundpond. The clear advantage is that you
can leave it connected, see more of the screen, etc. Using 3rd party clients is not supported
beyond us providing the following details. Web based proxy clients are banned/blocked.

Server : c.ustream.tv Port : 6667
Nick login : Either set server password, or use command /nick name:pass on login.
